Traditional Methodist Worship
Stained Glass WindowThe Traditional Worship Services are held in our historic Sanctuary.  Steeped in tradition and symbolism, the heart of First United Methodist brings people together every Sunday at 8:30 a.m. and 11:00 a.m.  Music Minister Rev. Billy Luttrell leads the chancel choir and congregation in song using the United Methodist Hymnal and special music programs.  Notes from the pipe organ and grand piano fill the Sanctuary and are sometimes joined by traditional instruments such as the flute, violin, and hand bells.

Our Traditional Worship Service honors the formal order and setting of centuries of Methodist worship.  Liturgists and young acolytes assist in the service with text readings and the lighting of the candles.  The *Affirmation of Faith, The Lord's Prayer, and the Doxology are a part of each service.  EFUMC's Senior Pastor and Associate Pastor take turns delivering the sermon and leading special events such as Baptisms and new memberships.

The first Sunday of each month is Communion Sunday.  As United Methodists, we believe in open Communion, and the table is open to all who wish to take part in the sanctity of the Body and Blood of Christ.

We hope you will join us as we share in the history and tradition of worship at First United Methodist Church of Enterprise.

The Apostles' Creed

I believe in God the Father Almighty,
maker of heaven and earth;

And in Jesus Christ his only Son our Lord;
who was conceived by the Holy Spirit,
born of the Virgin Mary,
suffered under Pontius Pilate,
was crucified, dead, and buried;
the third day he rose from the dead; he ascended into heaven,
and sitteth at the right hand of God the Father Almighty;
from thence he shall come to judge the quick and the dead.

I believe in the Holy Spirit,
the holy catholic** church,
the communion of saints,
the forgiveness of sins,
the resurrection of the body,
and the life everlasting. Amen.

The Lord's Prayer

 Our Father, which art in Heaven,
Hallowed be thy name,
Thy kingdom come,
Thy will be done,
in earth as it is in Heaven.

Give us this day our daily bread,
and forgive us our trespasses,
as we forgive those who trespass against us;
and lead us not into temptation,
but deliver us from evil.

For Thine is the Kingdom,
the Power,
and the Glory forever.
Amen.
Doxology (sung as a Hymn)

Praise God, from whom all blessings flow;
Praise God, all creatures here below;
Alleluia! Alleluia!

Praise God, the source of all our gifts!
Praise Jesus Christ, whose power uplifts!
Praise the Spirit, Holy Spirit!
Alleluia! Alleluia! Alleluia!
